SERMONS

As Galileo Church’s theologian-in-residence, Katie facilitates an ongoing project of “theological rehabilitation.” Her preaching invites Christians (and Jesus-curious agnostics, and considered atheists) whose former faith has been thoroughly deconstructed to try again, considering the outrageous claims of the Bible, in community with trusted friends.

Katie pours herself into the testimony of our ancestors in faith (i.e. the Bible), and into the lives of her Galileo co-conspirators, every week. (“Sundays whiz by like telephone poles on the highway,” she says.) Listening for the whispers and shouts of the Spirit, she writes jangly, urgent sermons that are sometimes funny and foul-mouthed. Not always, but she tries.

Sermon recordings from Galileo’s 2013 beginning all the way up to now are collected in “albums” (worship series) on Galileo’s website. You can subscribe to Katie’s sermon podcast on iTunes or Spotify; search for “Galileo Church” or “That’s What She Said.”
